Day 1: Arrival!!!

Meet & greet at the International Airport La Aurora (Guatemala) and transportation to Antigua Guatemala.

Day 2: Finca El Pilar / Antigua

7:00 AM. Transfer to Agua Volcano slopes for birding. Afterward transfer to San Cristobal El Alto, birding, and breakfast in a local restaurant. Then, transfer to Finca El Pilar for birding in the hummingbird feeders and around the farm.

In the afternoon birding opportunity or cultural walking tour.

Day 3: Tecpan / Huehuetenango

6:00 am. Departure from Antigua Guatemala toward the Tecpan area. Breakfast in Tecpan

Bird watching tour in Tecpan Reserve where you will find interesting endemic species of the North Central American highlands.

Afternoon transfer to Huehuetenango

Day 4: Todos Santos Cuchumatanes / Quetzaltenango

Morning transfer to Todos Santos National Park (2 hours) in the quest of Goldman’s Warbler; this species will be our first endemic species and is located in a small area in Huehuetenango and easy to spot in this park.

Afternoon transfer to Quetzaltenango, after check-in birding at Las Fuentes Georginas.

Day 5: Fuentes Georginas / Tarrales Private Reserve

Morning birdwatching in the very humid sub-tropical forest at Fuentes Georginas

Midday transfer to Los Tarrales Private reserve

Afternoon birdwatching around the lodge at Los Tarrales

Day 6: Los Tarrales Reserve

Time for Coffee and transfer to the La Isla area at Volcan Atitlan slope for birding.

Afternoon birding tour around La Laguneta.

Day 7: Los Tarrales / Santiago Atitlan

Time for coffee and transfer to La Rinconada to enjoy another birding experience.

Midday transfer from Lake Atitlan to Santiago

Day 8: Volcan Paquisis / Santiago Atitlan

Boat ride toward San Pedro La Laguna where we will climb San Pedro Volcano in the quest of Horned Guan and other interesting

Lunch will be served on the route (boxed lunch).

Note: tour to Paquisis Volcano requires a high effort; you can change this activity for Lake Tour by motorboat

Day 9: Rey Tepepul / Flight to Flores

Morning birdwatching at Rey Tepepul. This Park is located in Santiago Atitlan, on the western slopes of the Atitlan volcano.

11:00 AM. Transfer to the airport in time to catch your local flight to Flores

17:15 hrs, flight to Flores

Meet & Greet at the airport and transfer to your hotel

Day 10: Las Guacamayas Biological Station

After breakfast leaves Flores for approximately 3 hrs, the road proposes great birding opportunities. Upon your arrival, you will be received by the EBG staff.

Lunch and at 3:00 pm. birding tour around the base station ending at Las Guacamayas lookout.

Nighttime aquatic excursion

Day 11: El Peru Archaeological Site / Biological Station

5:00 am. Time for a coffee (breakfast on route). We will board our boat to the entrance of El Peru, where we will visit the most important nesting area of the scarlet macaw

Afternoon birdwatching around the Biological Station

Day 12: Tikal National Park

Early birdwatching around the river and the lodge

Midmorning transfer to Tikal National Park with a stop in Flores Island to have lunch

Sunset tour at Tikal National Park

Day 13: Tikal National Park full day

Early birdwatching Tour within Tikal National Park, Tikal is part of the nucleus areas of the Maya Biosphere Reserve, with a high level of conservation activities and research.

Midday archaeological tour

Day 14: Tikal National Park / Guatemala City

Morning second day to enjoy Tikal National Park

Midday transfer to El Remate, this village is located on the shore of Lake Peten Itza.

Lunch and birding around the lake

Afternoon transfer to Mundo Maya International Airport for a flight back to Guatemala City.

Meet & greet in Guatemala City and transfer to your hotel

Day 15: Back Home.

Breakfast and transfer to La Aurora International Airport in time to catch your international flight back home.
