Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival (Unguided)

Our team will greet you at La Aurora International Airport and will transfer you to the City of Antigua Guatemala, (1 hr)

Day 2: Valley Bike / Walking tour

Riders can bike through the Almolonga Valley, visiting the site of Ciudad Vieja, home of Guatemala’s former second capital, which was buried by an earthquake-triggered mudslide in 1541. Along the way one can visit an experimental macadamia farm and the village of San Antonio Aguas Calientes, famous for its weavings. Other trails, such as the Las Tierra Altas route, pass through a variety of coffee growing and farming areas
After lunch we will visit the ruins and museums that combined with the old cobbled streets keep the stories and legends of those colonial times.

Day 3: Iximche / Trek to Santa Catarina

In the morning visit to Iximche in Tecpán, Iximché was a Maya Cakchiquel city founded in 1463, less than a century before the arrival of the Spaniards, which played a decisive role in the Spanish conquest of this region of Guatemala. In gentle pine forests, you see the traces of this city. Even today, its four ceremonial plazas with their temples and ball court host worship ceremonies for the gods. Have lunch at some of the local restaurants in Tecpán and continue Godinez where you will start the hike to Santa Catarina (3 hours hike)

Day 4: Kayaking / Cerro de Oro

Today in the morning you will kayak on Lake Atitlan and then continue by boat to Cerro de Oro and start the hike up the hill for two hours hike.
Then we will transfer you by boat to Santiago Atitlan, one of the main attractions in this village is, without any doubt, the visit to Maximón, the pagan god of the natives who carries cigarette and liquor and receives all kinds of offerings from the visitors.
After lunch we will go back to Panajachel (B)

Day 5: Zip Line / Antigua

After breakfast you will visit Parque Chuiraxamolo with the best canopy tour in Central America, nice views of the lake, and return to Antigua

Day 6: Cobán

After breakfast you will be transferred to Cobán. In the afternoon you will see the Orchid farms and coffee farm.

Day 7: Lanquin and Semuc Champey

Today you will visit Semuc Champey this is a beautiful series of small ponds and pools on a natural land bridge that crosses the Cahabon River, The Cahabon River submerges itself at the entrance of Semuc Champey and resurfaces about 400 meters later after it passes this natural limestone bridge suspended with beautiful crystal clear ponds. In this unique natural formation you have water with shades of light green emerald to dark blue sapphire. In the afternoon you will visit Lanquin, it is an enormous and beautiful complex with chambers and rooms, limestone formations of extraordinary beauty of an infinite nature, some of the cave formations have names of animals or other figures. The Lanquin caves are also a sacred site used by the many of the Mayas from all over Guatemala, who believe the cave is the “heart of heaven”, and that in the depths of the cave “the secret of centuries is hidden”.

Day 8: Candelaria / Ceibal / Flores

After breakfast you will be transferred to Flores, on route you will see Candelaria Caves, this is one of the most extraordinary underground systems on Earth, and then you will continue to Ceibal Archaeological site, this city is adorned with magnificent stealaes. Its fertile soil supports exuberant tropical vegetation.

Day 9: Tikal National Park

After breakfast you will have a guided tour going through the most important city in the Mayan world, a mixture of nature and archaeology. Abundant wildlife, the Mayan forest, millennial temples silent witnesses of the birth and splendor as well as of the collapse of one of the most important civilizations in the planet, all this is in our visit to Tikal, The City of the Voices.

Transfer to the airport in the afternoon and flight to Guatemala City

Day 10: Back Home

Breakfast and transfer to the airport in time to catch the international flight.
